Privacy policy

Location

If permission is granted, coordinates are used in the browser to calculate lunar direction and times. Coordinates sent to Open-Meteo are rounded to two decimal places. Precise location history is not retained.

Camera and sensors

Camera frames and device-orientation events are processed on the device. They are not uploaded unless a user explicitly selects a photo for the public gallery.

User submissions

Optional nicknames, comments and submitted images are stored to provide the public gallery. Removal requests can be sent by email with enough detail to identify the post.

Analytics, advertising and cookies

The site may use Vercel Analytics, performance measurement and Google AdSense. Those providers may process technical identifiers or cookies under their own policies.

Place reviews and ratings

Posting publicly shares the nickname, review, rating, visit date, parking and other tips. Replies are public. A pseudonymous Auth identity stored in this browser controls editing and deletion; no email or current precise GPS is requested. Clearing site data may lose editing access. Information-error and content reports are private and stored for operator review. Deleting a review also deletes its replies; contact the operator if you have lost access.

Local observing-log draft

The observing-log form stores text in browser localStorage only when Save is selected. It is not uploaded or published automatically. Clear draft removes that saved text; clearing site data also removes it. Downloads are generated on the device.

Google advertising

If Google advertising is enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies based on visits to this or other websites to serve advertisements. Preferences can be managed at Google My Ad Center. See Google’s use of partner-site information. Disclosure does not replace any consent controls required for a user’s region.

Sources, responsibility and limitations

Lunar calculations use SunCalc in the browser. Cloud and precipitation forecasts come from Open-Meteo after coordinates are rounded to two decimal places. Terrain, buildings, haze and compass calibration can make a real observation differ from the estimate.
