Why Moon Where? exists

Last reviewed: October 7, 2026

Turning coordinates into an observing decision

Moon Where? is an independent astronomy utility built to answer a practical question: where should I look to see the Moon right now? It combines the observer’s time and approximate location with lunar altitude, azimuth, phase and weather so the result leads to an action.

Operator and responsibility

The service, calculation explanations and observing guides are maintained by the independent operator of Moon Where?. Questions, corrections and observing feedback are reviewed through the public contact address. Advertising does not determine calculation results or editorial conclusions.

Operating principles

  • Show time, location and known limits with results.
  • Separate calculated estimates from direct observations.
  • Minimize location precision shared with weather services.
  • Correct reproducible factual errors.

Operator and scope

Moon Where is maintained by its independent operator, tokebi054. Contact: tokebi054@gmail.com. This is a practical observing aid, not a certified observatory ephemeris. Guides combine the service’s calculation rules, source references and observing procedures. Field observations are published only when original records are available.

Sources, responsibility and limitations

Lunar calculations use SunCalc in the browser. Cloud and precipitation forecasts come from Open-Meteo after coordinates are rounded to two decimal places. Terrain, buildings, haze and compass calibration can make a real observation differ from the estimate.
