Why Does the Moon Rise ~50 Minutes Later Each Day?
As Earth rotates on its axis, the Moon orbits Earth eastward by approximately 13 degrees per day. For Earth to bring the observer back in line with the Moon, it must rotate an additional ~50 minutes, creating a daily forward shift in moonrise.
