2026-10 daily lunar illumination

Location: Seoul (37.5665, 126.9780) · Asia/Seoul · Calculated at

Daily values are calculated at 21:00 in the displayed timezone. Phase labels describe a range; they are not exact quarter/full-moon event instants.

Full Moon calculated from the reference date

· Asia/Seoul

An estimate of the SunCalc phase crossing 0.5, separate from the daily 21:00 representative value. It may fall in daylight. Check official ephemerides for precise timing.

These are astronomical estimates, not a confirmed sighting. Weather is not included in this summary; check the live forecast or the sky. You can choose another place using the location control.

Moon Phase Calendar | Monthly Lunar Tracker

Track daily waxing and waning phases in a visual month calendar with countdown to the next 100% Full Moon.

Primary Lunar Phases

  • New Moon: Positioned directly between Earth and Sun, the illuminated side faces away (Lunar Age 0).
  • First Quarter: Right half illuminated, glowing overhead in the southern sky at sunset (Age ~7.4 days).
  • Full Moon: Directly opposite the Sun, 100% illuminated, shining all night long (Age ~14.8 days).
  • Last Quarter: Left half illuminated, rising around midnight in the east (Age ~22.1 days).

How calendar phases are assigned

New moon, quarters and full moon are moments when the Sun-Earth-Moon geometry reaches a defined state, not labels for an entire day. The calendar combines illumination at a representative time with the nearest principal phase moment.

Planning with the calendar

A waxing crescent is easiest low in the west after sunset, first quarter in the evening sky, full moon near the eastern horizon at sunset and last quarter before dawn. Season and location still change the track and rise time.

Choosing a photography date

Full moon is bright but has short surface shadows. Near quarter phases, craters and mountains along the terminator often show stronger relief.

A full-Moon date is not an observing appointment

The calendar uses representative daily values. The astronomical full Moon is one calculated instant, which can fall in daylight in Korea. A near-full disk can still look round on adjacent nights. Check local rise, set and altitude before choosing a time.

  1. For an event, separate the global date, the source time standard and your local date.
  2. An eclipse is visible only while the Moon is above your horizon; a global maximum need not be visible from Korea.
  3. Recheck the observing direction, access restrictions and forecast on the day you go.
